Camera Collage

Camera Angles
For the first official assignment of this school year, we had to take different photos to match some of the different angles and distances we learnt about in class. We then had to create a collage to represent comply everything we captured. The photo pictured above is a sample of some of the photos I took for this assignment.

Camera Shots Collage 1
This assignment -for the most part- was completed with my friend in our study hall class, immediately after learning the lesson. I was discussing the different angles with her and asked if I could use her as my main subject. She agreed and allowed me to have full creative liberties. Above are the photos that were the most straightforward to complete. Ones that no matter what the subject was doing a certain mood was already created. These I did not play around with too much, and let me subject do what she wanted.
Camera Shots Official Collage
These final shots were the most fun to capture. They are less straightforward than the other ones, allowing me to play around with the shot more. The first two photos display my friend in our classroom setting. Capturing these were fun because I started moving around more to try and get a good shot. I opted to use my cat in the last two shots because I could not complete them in a classroom setting, nor would it create the intended effect of those distances. Using my cat as the model was a deliberate choice because she can be big with life. Showing how she was interacting in her home is something I wanted to be able to capture. I feel I was able to display her resting and being playful while showing context as to where she is very well.

Overall, the funnest shot for me to capture was the bird's eye shot and canted shot. Playing around with how the desk was organized and how far up I wanted to camera (which would determine how much of the scene got captured) was the best part when creating the bird's eye shot. The canted shot was fun for other reasons. That one allowed me to play with the emotions of my subject. Asking her to create different expressions and playing with how tilted I wanted the camera was enjoyable for the both of us.
