For this assignment, we were shown three short films that had emotional shifts throughout. After watching them, one member of our group got chosen to pick one of the three options through a hat draw. Once we had our film, we worked to find music in the public domain from online sources. When we gathered all the music, we inserted the video clip and music into an editing network. We chose Clipchamp. We compiled our music and edited it. Adjusting volume, transitions, and layering to our liking.
My specific contribution was to find music to match the melancholy mood at the start of the film. I used YouTube to find this piece, while others worked to find music that matched the other moods and tone shifts. I was also the primary editor of this film. Working to fade the music and piece it all together. This ties into our group's process. Together, we made sure the music coordinated well. That the sounds flowed and didn't feel abrupt. While I was the one who was in charge of editing and therefore had the most say, together we made choices that made our film come out splendidly. Some challenges we faced were transitioning, as we all had different views on when to transition. Although this can be seen as a big problem in a group project, it allowed for different voices to be heard to resulting in the best final project.
