So as a film maker, you create a vision before you create the movie. The film had a certain vibe in my head that I was tasked to try and realistically replicate. This would be a challenge as my imagination runs wild and I am unemployed. Lucky, I'm a bit of a fashionista. This has caused me to aquire some questionable and bold pieces over the years. This came in handy for Izzy's character. I sent her the Pinterest board I had created for her character. She asked if I had some tops she could borrow for the role. This lead to this photo being sent.
I brought all the tops with me on filming day so she could choose which she felt most comfortable in. She wore her own long white skirt, along with bringing big earrings and bracelets I knew she would have. I casted accordingly to my friends strengths. The next character was easy to plan for. Sara's kind of a cynic. I wanted her to dress like her normal everyday self, black shirt, jeans, some leather jacket. Kind of old school as her character is the voice of reason. For me I wanted more classic teenager, plain white shirt and denim baggy jeans. I had both other characters to wear their hair out with mine in a ponytail. This worked best with our natural hair and characters. I did not want anyone to use any heat on their heads especially as we risked rain.
Moving onto props, I decided to use just my own notebook that I journal in. The flowers will be picked when we arrive at the park. Using nature to our advantage. So yeah and props and costumes are just pieces of us. I like my friends and our group and this film is 100% resembling our own selves on camera.
