Shifting Through Videos

So after filming I have 58 videos that range from 10 seconds to 5 minutes. Needless to say I had plently of footage to choose from. The most time consuming and tendious was combing through and finding which clips to use. I made a requirement of what I wanted my clips to show. They either had to give context to what made tree tops special, show a dynamic between characters, or show a handheld camera movement. I wanted this to give the film the romantic atmosphere the park naturally provides, show tension between characters through their interactions, and give the film a more personal touch. Besides the scene where "Ash" was in the frame I had the idea to make the film intro Ash documenting her best friend fall in love. This is why I wanted a handheld shot with moments that seem awkward and weird to record because they are candid. I feel this helped aid my romantic comedy genre by making it scenic, personal, and appeal to the comfort of the viewer.

With a more specific idea of what I wanted in mind, I had to start shifting through the videos.
